Branik Svetly – a classic pale beer, perfect for unwinding after a long day. It features a pleasant, refreshing taste with a subtle bitterness and a rich hoppy aroma, providing a sense of lightness and enjoyment with every sip.
Pivovar Braník beer – a traditional low-alcohol beverage with the familiar malt-hoppy flavor well-known to all.
In 1869, a new law allowed anyone with sufficient funds to engage in brewing. Thus, in the Prague district of Braník, where Dominican monks had brewed beer since the late 17th century, the brewery “Společenský pivovar pražských sládků” was established in 1899. The first batch of beer was brewed in 1900.
The logo's artistic design was created by the famous Czech artist and illustrator Mikoláš Aleš. The original shield, featuring the symbol of malt mastery – two old-fashioned wooden malting rakes, topped with a crown symbolizing royal taste – was combined with the figure of Saint Wenceslas, the patron of maltsters. Two angels were added later as a symbol of Prague.
As a result of the merger of three Prague breweries (Staropramen, Braník, and Ostravar) and the creation of “Prague Brewers” (Pražské Pivovary), in 1992 Bráník Brewery became a privatized enterprise that underwent significant modernization. Fermentation took place in conical fermenters, and the finished beer was canned and exported.
In 2007, Braník production was moved to the Staropramen plant in the Smíchov district.
