Starobrno — beer with character!

Categories

Starobrno Tradicni 10% — classic lager with a soft malt aroma and light hop bitterness. This is a traditional European beer with a rich but light taste, which is perfectly refreshing and ideal for relaxing with friends.

Starobrno Brewery is the oldest brewery in Moravia, the history of which began back in 1325 with the Cistercian monastery founded by Elisabeth Richeza from Poland in the Stare Brno area. Despite several fires in the 15th century, the buildings were always restored in their original form.

In the second half of the 19th century, the owners built modern production facilities, and by the end of the century the brewery merged with another company and moved to a new plant in Old Brno. By the end of the 19th century, the annual production volume of the consolidated brewery reached 236,490 hectoliters. Throughout the 20th century, the brewery underwent multiple modernizations, and in 1992 it received its first award at the PIVEX beer exhibition. In 2009, Starobrno produced over one million hectoliters of beer and merged with the Royal Brewery of Krušovice, becoming part of the international Heineken corporation.
